The portable room air conditioners are a little more costly than the regular window units but that’s a small price I’m sure all is willing to pay for cool and comfort and convenience. Many models can be remotely operated with 24 hour programmable operations which means you can set it to switch on before you get home so you’re room is already the right temp when you get there. This reduces cost since you wont have to leave it on all day.

Most of us have to get professionals to install the normal window air conditioner units and don’t wish to have someone do it every year when summer rolls around. Well if you don’t have central air the portable room air conditioner is the thing for you. They are usually three to four feet tall and roughly 2 feet wide and most times have wheels to enable easy movement form one room to the next.

The only problem you might have with these units is that the hot air is blown into the room but this can be easily corrected by venting a hose out the window from the unit, the makers realize this and so there is a fitting on most models that allow for this.
